He’s not exactly easy to play, taking up your entire turn unless you’ve got lucky with Luna's Pocket Galaxy, but if you have a decent number of spells in hand, you should be able to immediately summon a big board of minions in the same vein as Dragoncaller Alanna. What you’re really here for is the big goat-looking chap himself, King Phaoris. Imagine a 1 mana Kalecgos allowing you to discover and cast a spell, and having a whole 9 mana left - honestly, it’s a dream come true. You may have even drawn some big minions for 1 mana, allowing you to toss them onto the board for a tiny cost. Combinations such as Khadgar and Power of Creation can chuck a big board in your opponent’s way too. Late Game: Hex Lord Malacrass brings you a great deal of value. Tortollan Pilgrim is a great way to generate extra copies of the spells you want to cast without losing out on the value they’ll be generating later on. Toki, Time-Tinker can do some exciting things if you’re lucky, but prioritise clearing the enemy’s board with spells. Aside from that, keep playing out your minions when you can. There’s always the chance of drawing a 1/1 King Phaoris which given the correct circumstances might just win you the game single handedly. If you can spare the 5 mana, Luna's Pocket Galaxy is a phenomenal card to play as early as possible. Mid Game: Towards the mid game, you should be in possession of a pretty hardcore hand. Playing well, you should be able to get over the first hurdle, and you have spells like Polymorph and Frost Nova on hand if things get a bit too dicey. Draw cards with Arcane Intellect and play out your early cards, discovering other playable minions through Messenger Raven and selecting your Arcane Keysmith Secret carefully. This is both useful for the late game swing that can be offered as well as the enormous potential held by King Phaoris.Įarly Game: It’s possible to throw your Archmage Arugal onto the board early and just use it as early tempo with an upside potential of duplicating minions in your hand. This deck plays a control style with an emphasis on big spells.
